On January 15, both Red Bull and Racing Bulls will unveil their new liveries for the 2026 season at an event hosted at Ford’s headquarters in Detroit. The launch marks the beginning of a new era and will showcase all the projects undertaken by the American manufacturer, highlighting its involvement in the electric side of the Powertrain.
With just three races remaining in the 2025 Formula 1 season, the championship battle is approaching its conclusion. However, attention is already turning to 2026, when a new technical cycle begins. This project represents a fresh start for many teams, essentially restarting from scratch.
The theme is particularly significant for Red Bull, which, after parting ways with Honda, will debut its first internally developed Power Unit at Milton Keynes. The project is a collaboration with Ford, which brings expertise in the electric component and contributes to certain aspects of the thermal system.
This partnership signals a new beginning for Red Bull and marks Ford’s return to Formula 1. To celebrate this milestone, the new livery, featuring the American brand, will be unveiled on January 15 in Detroit, Michigan, where Ford is headquartered. The event will also highlight all of Ford’s current projects, including its future LMDh program for the WEC.
The launch will exclusively showcase the livery on a car that does not correspond to the model that will appear in the late-January tests. A similar approach was used in 2022, when a showcar presented the new livery while teams prepared their cars to comply with new regulations. Teams, including Cadillac, already have “dummy cars” for such events.
In Detroit, not only will Red Bull’s new livery be revealed, but also that of Racing Bulls, the other team powered by RBPT units. “The launch of the Red Bull Ford Powertrains era represents not only a bold step into the future, but also a demonstration of what can be achieved when world-class engineering, innovation, and passion come together,” said Laurent Mekies, Red Bull Team Principal.
He added that seeing the energy, precision, and scale of the project is inspiring, representing the culmination of several years of collaboration between two major motorsport names. “We are incredibly excited to start this new chapter, driven by the same determination and excellence that define both Ford and Red Bull.”
Ford Motor Company President Jim Farley added: “Since announcing our return to F1 with Red Bull, Ford has worked tirelessly to be ready for 2026. But this challenge goes beyond racing: it’s about transferring knowledge gained in F1 to make our cars and trucks better. What we develop together with Red Bull will help shape future technologies, and it’s precisely this vision that makes our partnership so exciting.”
