Racing Bulls kick off 2026 Formula 1 project with Imola test. Racing Bulls are set to begin their 2026 Formula 1 preparations with a first on-track test at Imola.

According to recent reports, Racing Bulls will begin their 2026 Formula 1 campaign from the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola, with a first on-track test scheduled as part of preparations for the new season.

The Faenza-based team is getting ready to officially kick off the new Formula 1 season with an important track activity. According to rumors that have emerged just minutes ago, Racing Bulls will take to the track at Imola for an initial test session ahead of the 2026 season, before then heading to Barcelona.

The programme

After unveiling its new livery to the public, Red Bull’s sister team has scheduled a Filming Day between January 20 and 21 at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola. As reported by F1inGenerale, the day will be used to ensure that the entire package is functioning correctly, as well as for the production of promotional and advertising content.

This will also mark the very first time that the two drivers, Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad, will get behind the wheel of the brand-new generation of Formula 1 cars. A significant milestone for both drivers, who will have their first direct contact with the 2026 technical regulations on track.

The objective for 2026 is clear: to confirm sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship and, if possible, try to put pressure on the top teams at the front. It is an ambitious target, but one that appears achievable given the progress shown during the previous season.

Furthermore, the driver line-up is considered extremely promising. Liam Lawson is now entering his second full season in Formula 1, bringing valuable experience and continuity, while Arvid Lindblad is widely regarded as one of the most exciting talents for the future of the sport.

The 2026 Racing Bulls car

One of the most significant aspects of the new VCARB03 is that it will adopt the Red Bull RB22 suspension layout at both the front and rear. This is a noteworthy decision, confirming the close technical collaboration with the parent team and the intention to rely on proven and successful components.

The aim of this choice is to improve the car’s behaviour through corners and enhance tyre management, two areas that are absolutely crucial for competitiveness over a race distance.

The team is also believed to have already planned a series of targeted updates aimed at reducing the overall weight of the car, a key factor in modern Formula 1. “Slimming down” the car would allow greater freedom in terms of balance and could unlock potential performance gains over the course of the season.

The upcoming shakedown at Imola represents a pivotal moment for Racing Bulls as they transition into the 2026 regulatory era. By integrating the Red Bull RB22’s suspension and focusing on an aggressive weight-reduction program, the VCARB03 aims to be more than just a midfield contender; it seeks to capitalize on its technical synergy to pressure the frontrunners. With Liam Lawson’s experience and Arvid Lindblad’s youthful energy, the Faenza squad is setting a bold foundation at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit, hoping that these early laps will pave the way for a standout season in this new generation of Formula 1.
