Oscar Piastri keeps the faith: “I can still win the World Championship” despite a tough Brazilian weekend. After a tough weekend in Brazil, Oscar Piastri remains confident he can still fight for the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship..

After a difficult Sprint and a fourth-place finish in qualifying, Oscar Piastri is not backing down in his pursuit of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship. The McLaren driver remains determined to challenge his teammate and direct rival, Lando Norris, despite what has so far been a frustrating weekend at Interlagos. “I still believe I can win races and the championship,” said the Australian, “even if things aren’t going as smoothly as I would like at the moment.”

Earlier in the season, Oscar Piastri was leading the standings by 34 points in August, but after a tough series of races, he now finds himself trailing Norris by nine points with only a few rounds left. Nevertheless, the driver from Melbourne refuses to lose faith, insisting that there is still everything to fight for in the final stretch of the season.

Oscar Piastri explained that the setbacks he faced in Austin and Mexico forced him to rethink his approach and adapt behind the wheel. “In Austin and Mexico, I had to deal with situations where I wasn’t completely comfortable,” he said. “But this weekend, things feel back to normal. From the very first lap in free practice, I felt confident with the car again.”

Unfortunately, the weekend took a turn for the worse during the Sprint Race, where a crash at Turn 3 brought his progress to a sudden halt. The incident occurred after he clipped the wet inside kerb and lost control of his car. “I went over the same kerb the lap before without any issues,” Oscar Piastri explained. “Maybe the car ahead of me displaced more water, and I probably shouldn’t have taken the risk. It was a mistake, but also bad luck that the consequences were so heavy.” – the Australian driver pointed out during the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend.

Despite the setback, Oscar Piastri remains optimistic and focused on turning things around. He knows that the gap to Norris is still manageable and that with determination, speed, and confidence, the championship is far from over. The young McLaren star aims to use those qualities to stage a comeback in the remaining races and keep his title hopes alive until the very end.
