Oscar Piastri to Red Bull?

The excellent results achieved this year by Oscar Piastri, including his first two career wins, are helping McLaren secure the top of the Constructors’ standings with five races remaining in the 2024 championship. His driving style is generally highly appreciated, to the point that rumors arose about a possible future for the young Australian at Red Bull, following some statements from the Anglo-Austrian team’s consultant, Helmut Marko, who reportedly received pressure from the Australian’s manager, Mark Webber, for a seat in Milton Keynes.

The firm denial

However, in a meeting with the media in Mexico City, Oscar Piastri firmly dismissed these market rumors: “I think we all know that Helmut says a lot of things to the press,” said the Australian, whose contract with McLaren expires in 2026. “As far as I know, there’s no truth to this. I am very, very happy where I am. The team has supported me greatly since I entered Formula 1 and gave me the opportunity in F1. At the moment, we are in a very happy position in the standings, so I am more than happy with where I am today.” – Oscar Piastri concluded ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix weekend.
