At the end of the race, after returning to the Haas garage, Ollie Bearman wanted to reassure his fans by posting a video on the American team’s social media account. He confirmed that he is physically fine, while also admitting that the crash gave him quite a fright due to the severity of the impact:

“I’m happy to say that everything is okay. I’m really sorry for the team for what happened. It was quite a crazy accident, with a very high impact speed. So we’ll need to analyze the situation to fully understand what happened.”

Speaking later to the media, the Ferrari Driver Academy member added further details about the incident:

“There was a huge speed difference between the two of us, around 50 km/h. That was due to the new regulations, which I guess we’ll have to get used to. But at the same time, it felt like I wasn’t given much space.”

In his final remarks, the British driver emphasized that the topic had already been discussed among drivers and officials earlier in the weekend:

“It’s something we talked about on Friday with the other drivers and the stewards. We need to be more flexible and ready to deal with situations like this, where very large speed differences can occur. As a group, we’ve already flagged to the FIA what could happen. This episode is an unfortunate consequence of the new regulations — a situation that we’ve never seen before in Formula 1.”

While Oliver Bearman has been cleared of any injury following his 50G impact at the Japanese Grand Prix, the “absurd” nature of the crash has put the 2026 regulations under the microscope.
