Haas will arrive at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix looking to end a run of five consecutive Formula 1 races without scoring points. The first event after the summer break represents an important opportunity for Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon to reverse the American team’s recent decline.
After making an encouraging start to the championship, Haas failed to score from the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix through to the Hungarian Grand Prix. The team remains seventh in the Constructors’ Championship, but its advantage over an improving Audi squad has been reduced to only nine points.
Haas targets Dutch GP recovery after five races without points
The 2026 Dutch Grand Prix Sprint weekend will provide Haas with an immediate test following the summer shutdown. With fewer practice sessions available under the Sprint format, the team will need to find a competitive setup quickly if it is to return to the top 10.
The break of almost a month may have arrived at an ideal time for Haas, allowing the drivers and team personnel to recover before the demanding second half of the championship begins.
Summer break gives Oliver Bearman an opportunity to reset
The pause provided Oliver Bearman with an opportunity to recharge after the British driver failed to finish inside the top 10 from the Monaco Grand Prix onwards.
“We’re back, and the break was exactly what both the team and I needed,” Oliver Bearman said. “It was fantastic to spend time with family and friends, put my phone on ‘Do Not Disturb’ and have some free time to dedicate to my other hobbies!
“The objective for the second half of the season is to give everything and make sure we work cohesively to achieve the best possible result. I love Zandvoort, and it is a shame that this is its final year on the Formula 1 calendar. The atmosphere is unmatched, the Orange Army turns out in full force and the circuit is truly unique. I cannot wait to start racing again.”
Zandvoort’s distinctive banked corners, narrow layout and enthusiastic Dutch support have made it one of the most recognisable events on the calendar. Its final scheduled Formula 1 weekend will therefore carry additional significance for the drivers and fans.
Esteban Ocon aims to build on Haas’s Hungary consistency
Haas recorded its most recent points finish at the Monaco Grand Prix through Esteban Ocon. The French driver has nevertheless endured an even more difficult campaign than his teammate. Oliver Bearman currently occupies 13th position in the Formula 1 driver standings, while Esteban Ocon is 17th and trails the British driver by 15 points.
“It was fantastic to relax during the summer break with friends and family,” Esteban Ocon said. “It was important for everyone to have the opportunity to recharge ahead of what promises to be a very intense second half of the season. We are ready to return to the track and see what we can achieve.
“Zandvoort is a fantastic circuit at which to begin the second part of the year. The fans always create an incredible atmosphere and the track is enjoyable to drive. We faced some difficulties during the first half of the season, so we will try to build on the consistency we showed in Hungary.
“As it is a Sprint weekend, we will need to make the most of every session and extract the maximum from the package from the very beginning.”
