New Sponsors Incoming
In recent days, we reported on the sponsorship agreement signed between Eni and the Alpine team. However, the partnership with the Italian company does not seem to be the only significant deal for the French team in 2025. According to the specialized site SportBusiness, Alpine—currently undergoing a major internal restructuring at the management level and beyond—is close to finalizing two other major agreements with MSC Cruises and Valvoline.
Both brands are already well accustomed to F1: MSC has been a global partner of the sport since 2022 and is expected to be the title sponsor of three Grands Prix this year (Austria, USA, and Brazil). Valvoline, meanwhile, is a technical partner and sponsor of Aston Martin, with that collaboration set to continue regardless of any future partnership with the French team. This influx of sponsorships for Alpine is reportedly closely tied to the presence of Flavio Briatore.
Following McLaren’s Example
The Italian manager is becoming increasingly central to the team’s operations and is leveraging his vast network to secure high-profile sponsorships that could help Alpine grow. This is a strategy that has been successfully used in the past by McLaren: since Zak Brown took over as CEO, the British team has significantly expanded its sponsorship portfolio, a key step in its journey toward winning the 2024 Constructors’ Championship.
Of course, Alpine still has a long way to go before achieving similar success, but building a solid foundation by expanding its partner base is a strong strategy for a fresh start. In this context, few figures in the paddock are better suited for the task than Flavio Briatore.
