In recent months, rumors about the future of Italian driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli have been circulating non-stop. His inconsistent performances in the middle part of the season had led to speculation about a possible transfer to another team, potentially decided by Toto Wolff, to allow him to gain further experience.
However, as reported by Sky Italia, an exclusive interview with Toto Wolff has put all doubts to rest. The Austrian was categorical on the matter, stating: “All these stories suggesting we might put Kimi in Williams or Alpine are completely nonsensical. Zero! Kimi will be in Mercedes next year, 100%. All those stories are not true.” – the Mercedes team boss pointed out ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix weekend.
With these words, Toto Wolff seems to have put an end to the speculation surrounding the team. Now, the only remaining step is the official confirmation and the signing of the new contract for the young talent from Bologna.
