Having a Japanese driver on board the RB21 for the Suzuka weekend led Red Bull to consider the possibility of racing with a new livery compared to the one seen in the first two races of the season. According to some rumors, Yuki Tsunoda could make his debut alongside Max Verstappen with a car specially redesigned for the occasion.
The former VCARB driver was chosen by Helmut Marko and Christian Horner to replace the disappointing Liam Lawson. The New Zealand driver struggled quite a bit in both Melbourne and Shanghai, prompting the team’s higher-ups in Milton Keynes to make a drastic decision after just two races.
Certainly, the timing of the decision was influenced by the fact that the next stop for the Circus will be the Land of the Rising Sun. The possibility of seeing Yuki Tsunoda racing for Red Bull in front of his home crowd is, in fact, a marketing opportunity strongly pushed by Honda.
Clues from Japan
For this reason, Red Bull is expected to race in Suzuka with a new livery in white. Confirming this, photos from Japan have emerged, showing that some stores are already selling white Red Bull hats and polos.
Additionally, the polo features a small Japanese flag, symbolizing the limited edition that will be available only for the Suzuka weekend. To find out what the livery will look like on track in the next race, we just have to wait for confirmation from Red Bull itself. The Milton Keynes team hopes that Suzuka will be a positive weekend for Yuki Tsunoda.
The former VCARB driver is called upon to show that he can do better than Lawson did in the first two races, as the New Zealand driver seeks to regain the calm he lost at the start of 2025.
