New exclusive partnership for McLaren: will MCL38 livery change at COTA in Austin?. McLaren announces a new exclusive partnership for Formula 1.

Lando Norris, McLaren MCL38, 2024 F1

Exciting news for McLaren in the United States, as the team announces a new exclusive partnership for Formula 1. The Woking-based team is gearing up for a thrilling end to the 2024 F1 season, with a real shot at winning the Constructors’ Championship, bringing home a title that has been missing since 1998. However, all efforts will be focused on Lando Norris in his chase to catch Max Verstappen.

It’s been a golden year for McLaren. The British team has finally been reborn after decades of struggles and inconsistent results. Woking hasn’t been this competitive since the introduction of the new 2014 regulations, after many seasons in the back of the grid, including the disastrous years of the Honda partnership and Fernando Alonso’s first departure from the sport. Today, McLaren is a winning, even dominant, team. A favorite for the 2024 Constructors’ Championship, attracting investments and sponsors from all over the world. Ahead of the US Grand Prix weekend in Austin, Woking announces a new exclusive commercial partner: T-Mobile, a leading mobile telecommunications multinational in the US 5G sector.

According to the announcement, “this partnership opens the door for McLaren Racing to leverage T-Mobile’s 5G network to enhance trackside operations, provide the best connectivity in the category for guests, and unlock new immersive fan experiences at US races. This follows T-Mobile’s success in ensuring operational efficiency and critical data connectivity for its partners while creating unique fan experiences.”

The new commercial partner will appear on the livery of the Woking car, altering certain aspects of it for the US races: “The McLaren Formula 1 team will showcase the T-Mobile branding at various venues for the remaining US races of the 2024 season and beyond, including on the garage headsets and the race cars of McLaren Formula 1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.”
