McLaren has revealed a special livery for Austin (and more) after teasing fans on social media with an image that initially appeared to be Charles Leclerc’s eye. In reality, it was Oscar Piastri, serving as a creative way to unveil the exclusive new design that will be used at the 2025 Austin and Mexico City Grands Prix. Created in collaboration with Google Gemini, the livery celebrates digital creativity and innovation, two elements that have always defined the DNA of the Woking-based team.
A livery for two consecutive race weekends
The new color scheme will feature on the MCL39 for two consecutive weekends: Austin and Mexico City. It won’t be limited to the car alone; the design will also be reflected on the drivers’ suits and boots, perfectly matching the chromatic theme of the project.
The iridescent design draws inspiration from Google Gemini’s color palette, featuring bright, shifting shades. According to the team, the goal is to visually represent Gemini’s role as a proactive and creative personal assistant, capable of inspiring and guiding users in daily life.

Official unveiling and fan experiences
This special livery is part of McLaren’s “Never Stop Racing” campaign, designed to convey the concept of being “In the Zone”—that mental state where focus, emotion, and passion merge into a perfect moment, just like when driving a Formula 1 car.
The livery was officially unveiled on McLaren and Google Gemini’s digital channels on Wednesday. Fans will see it in person for the first time at the McLaren Racing Live: Zone Studio event, an immersive experience taking place in downtown Austin from Thursday to Saturday.
Organized in collaboration with Google Gemini and Dell Technologies, the event offers interactive activities and digital installations created together with Mastercard, eBay, and Okta. It is a completely free event, open to all, designed to bring fans closer to the McLaren world and the technology driving the team’s growth.
This is not McLaren’s first experiment with special partner-inspired liveries. In the past, the team has showcased color variants dedicated to Google Chrome, used at the 2023 and 2025 Silverstone Grands Prix, as well as the 2024 United States GP. This new collaboration reinforces McLaren’s innovative spirit, blending motorsport and digital culture into a unique combination of aesthetics and technology.
The result is a livery that not only captures light but also attention—a symbol of McLaren’s constant evolution, continuing to reinvent itself between tradition and modernity, both on and off the track.
