Mission: erase Baku
After a disappointing weekend in Baku, McLaren is determined to bounce back at the Singapore Grand Prix, where the team could also mathematically secure the Constructors’ Championship. Drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, together with team principal Andrea Stella, have shared their thoughts ahead of the Marina Bay event.
Lando Norris aims for a reset
Lando Norris said: “I can’t wait to go racing again under the lights in Singapore. It was nice to return to Woking after Baku to reset and put in time on the simulator. I have great memories of this race, with a podium and last year’s victory, so I’m ready to get back out there.”
Oscar Piastri confident in MCL39’s potential
Oscar Piastri explained: “On paper, and with the temperatures expected in Singapore, our car should perform well. Because of this I’m anticipating a really positive weekend. Plus, since it’s the closest race to Australia, I usually have a lot of fans in the stands, and it’s always nice to have that extra boost.”
Andrea Stella highlights the circuit’s demands
Team principal Andrea Stella added: “Singapore is a street circuit with higher downforce levels than Baku and more tire degradation this season, which should suit the characteristics of the MCL39. The whole team, both trackside and back at Woking, is motivated to keep adding important points in both Championships.”
