Lando Norris, what a blunder
It was a Canadian weekend to forget for Lando Norris. As long as the standings didn’t matter, the British driver was always ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri. Then, when the stakes rose, Lando Norris was haunted by his past mistakes, making errors in Q3 that condemned him to start seventh. Not “content,” the McLaren driver lost focus even during the race, and as soon as he got close behind Oscar Piastri, he made a serious misjudgment that led to contact with his teammate and ended his Montreal GP just laps from the finish.

Lando Norris immediately took the blame for what happened on the main straight with Oscar Piastri, having tried an inside overtake where there was simply no room. After the checkered flag, he apologized to the Australian, who naturally accepted (especially since this incident extends his lead to +22 in the standings). This is the video published by F1.
Lando Norris’s words
“It was a very big mistake. I had to make the decision at that moment but it was a stupid decision. Was a collision between us inevitable? You never know, but today it was entirely my fault. I apologized to the team and to Oscar because my priority has always been the team, so attempting something like that was stupid on my part,” Lando Norris told Sky Sport F1. “It happened as it did, I made the mistake and now I pay the consequences.”
Oscar Piastri’s words
“We were battling fairly, it was a bit strange that it happened there. I believe Lando had no bad intentions, it was just a bit unlucky, I’ll review what happened,” Oscar Piastri added. “But honestly, it was a tough race for me up to that point, so there are things we need to work on.” – the McLaren driver concluded following the race which was held at the 4.361-kilometre Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal.
