Max Verstappen arrives at Interlagos in an unprecedented state that could change everything: he can now push to the absolute limit in the championship battle. The Red Bull driver approaches the Brazilian Grand Prix with a completely different mindset compared to recent races. After months of tension and extreme caution on track, Verstappen can finally focus solely on pure performance and fighting for victory.
The reason is straightforward: the threat of suspension that had hung over him since the Barcelona race is no longer an issue. Most of the points accumulated on his FIA super license have expired, leaving him with a total of six. This news changes his approach to the Interlagos weekend and frees him from any fear or hesitation.
In Formula 1, mental calmness matters as much as speed. With no restrictions holding him back, Verstappen will be able to return to aggressive duels, tackle corners more boldly, and manage race pace with greater ease. For Red Bull, this condition represents an important strategic advantage as the season heads into its final stages.
Other drivers have also benefited from the expiration of penalty points, but none as much as Verstappen. Oliver Bearman sees his total drop to eight, while Oscar Piastri reduces his to four. However, it is the Dutch champion who gains the most significant psychological margin—a factor that can make a real difference on a technical and unpredictable circuit like Interlagos.
Following Lando Norris‘ triumph in Mexico, the fight for the world title remains wide open between the two ‘papaya’ drivers and Verstappen. Now free from the risk of suspension, the Dutch champion is ready to attack without holding back in the upcoming races.
