Max Verstappen warns of energy management challenges at Silverstone. Max Verstappen previews British GP: "Silverstone will be more demanding".

Max Verstappen, Red Bull RB22, 2026 F1

Red Bull heads into the British Grand Prix looking to build on the encouraging progress it showed in Austria. After securing its strongest result of the 2026 Formula 1 season at the Red Bull Ring, the Milton Keynes-based team now prepares for its second home race in the space of just 10 days as Formula 1 arrives at Silverstone.

Red Bull looking for more confirmation at Silverstone

Max Verstappen delivered his best result of the season in Austria by finishing second after fighting for victory, while Isack Hadjar also impressed with a strong recovery drive to sixth place. The performances gave Red Bull fresh confidence ahead of one of the most demanding circuits on the calendar.

“The race in Austria went really well for us, and it was great to be fighting for the win again,” Verstappen said. “Second place was a solid result. We found good pace and really enjoyed battling on track. Now we’re immediately preparing for the second race of this double-header.”

“I love the Silverstone circuit because of its incredible history. I think this weekend will be quite different and much more challenging, especially when it comes to energy management. Because of the layout and the high-speed corners, it could be a tougher race. It also looks like it will be hotter than expected, so we’ll see how things develop.”

Hadjar expects another demanding weekend

Isack Hadjar also reflected positively on Red Bull’s performance in Austria, where the team introduced a significant package of upgrades that helped improve its competitiveness.

“As a team, we can be pleased with our performance in Austria,” Isack Hadjar said. “We arrived there with a number of upgrades, so it was a weekend of learning, but ultimately a positive one that allowed us to score more important points once again.”

“Now we’re heading straight to Silverstone, where my goal is to put together a complete weekend in every aspect. The temperatures should be lower, and the characteristics of the circuit don’t perfectly suit our car, so we’ll need to extract the maximum potential from the package we have.”
