Cadillac has revealed a special one-off livery for the 2026 British Grand Prix, with the American Formula 1 team set to celebrate the United States’ Independence Day by racing in the colours of the Stars and Stripes at Silverstone.
The Fourth of July, which this year coincides with Sprint Qualifying and the Sprint Race at Silverstone, also marks the 250th anniversary of the United States. To celebrate the occasion, Cadillac has chosen to temporarily replace its familiar black-and-white colour scheme with a patriotic red, white and blue design.
A patriotic look for Silverstone
Instead of the standard livery used throughout the season up to the Austrian Grand Prix, the MAC-26 cars driven by Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas will feature the three colours of the American flag.
Blue, white and red will be integrated across the entire design. The front wing profiles and the bodywork will prominently display all three colours, creating a distinctive appearance for Cadillac’s home-themed celebration.
White will dominate the nose section, the sidepods and the central area of the engine cover. Blue will appear on the front wing endplates, the halo and the front section of the cockpit, while red will be concentrated around the rear of the car. The Coke-bottle section will feature several striking red accents, with the rear wing finished entirely in red.
The patriotic theme will not be limited to the cars. Cadillac’s team apparel, as well as the race suits and helmets worn by Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, will also adopt a matching colour scheme to mark Independence Day in style.
Cadillac aiming to bounce back after Austria
“The Fourth of July weekend represents another opportunity for us to proudly represent the United States on the global Formula 1 stage,” said Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac Formula 1® Team Holdings. “We want to use this occasion to introduce new communities to the sport and share our passion.”
On track, Cadillac will be hoping to recover after a disappointing Austrian Grand Prix. The team’s weekend at Spielberg was heavily compromised by a brake overheating issue that forced first Valtteri Bottas and then Sergio Perez out of contention within just five laps.
“The Austrian Grand Prix was a challenging weekend for us, but there isn’t a single team in the pit lane that hasn’t experienced weekends like that,” said Team Principal Graeme Lowdon. “We have worked intensively to address the issues that emerged. We have seen encouraging signs from the upgrades introduced at Spielberg, and our objective at Silverstone is to put together a clean weekend so we can maximise the performance potential we have identified.”
“We know it will be a demanding task, especially with so little time between Austria and Silverstone, but we will take every opportunity to learn, make another step forward and continue our development as a team.”
