Max Verstappen targets third straight F1 win at Austin after Red Bull resurgence

Max Verstappen, Red Bull RB22, 2026 F1

Max Verstappen is targeting his third consecutive Formula 1 Grand Prix victory at the 2026 United States Grand Prix in Austin after Red Bull’s impressive resurgence in Malaysia and Singapore. The four-time world champion believes the team’s latest upgrades have transformed its competitiveness, giving him renewed confidence ahead of a circuit where Red Bull has enjoyed considerable success in recent years.

Max Verstappen has returned to being a formidable threat to his Formula 1 rivals, securing pole position and victory at both of the last two Grands Prix, as well as completing a clean sweep during the Singapore Sprint weekend. With Red Bull having won four of the previous five editions of the United States Grand Prix, the Dutch driver has every reason to approach the Circuit of The Americas with optimism.

Max Verstappen targets third consecutive F1 victory at Austin

Red Bull’s recent turnaround has been one of the most significant developments in the latter stages of the 2026 Formula 1 season. The team’s latest upgrade package has delivered a substantial improvement in the performance of the RB22, allowing Max Verstappen to return to the front of the grid and challenge consistently for victories.

After winning at Sepang, where the Bahrain Grand Prix was held in Malaysia, Max Verstappen followed up with another victory in Singapore just seven days later. His success at Marina Bay was particularly significant, as he also claimed victory in the Sprint and secured pole position during the weekend.

The results have strengthened Red Bull’s confidence ahead of the United States Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen will attempt to extend his winning sequence to three consecutive races.

Austin has traditionally been a successful venue for both the Dutch driver and his team. Red Bull’s four victories in the previous five editions underline its strong record at the Texas circuit, although the characteristics of the track will still require careful preparation.

Max Verstappen celebrates Red Bull’s victories with its own power unit

Max Verstappen believes Red Bull has plenty of reasons to celebrate its recent performances, particularly considering that the team is now competing with a power unit developed through its own engine programme.

The Dutch driver highlighted the significance of winning consecutive Grands Prix and a Sprint race while competing with an engine developed in-house.

“Finally winning in Singapore was a special moment, and getting two Grand Prix victories, plus a Sprint race, in a row with an engine we’ve built ourselves is something to celebrate and something Red Bull can be proud of,” Max Verstappen commented.

Beyond the satisfaction of those recent achievements, Max Verstappen also stressed the importance of finding the right car setup for the Circuit of The Americas.

“This circuit is very distinctive and bumpy. It has long corners and elevation changes, so we need to make sure we start on the right foot with the setup. Austin is always a fun weekend.

“We’re about to begin another triple-header, and our aim is to maintain this momentum, make the most of our opportunities and score as many points as possible for the Constructors’ Championship.”

The challenge at Austin will therefore be to ensure that the improved RB22 performs effectively across a circuit featuring a mixture of long corners, elevation changes and an uneven surface.

For Max Verstappen, maintaining the momentum established in Malaysia and Singapore will be particularly important as Red Bull attempts to improve its position in the Constructors’ Championship during the closing stages of the season.

Isack Hadjar hopes Red Bull can carry Singapore momentum into Austin

Isack Hadjar is also approaching the United States Grand Prix with renewed confidence following Red Bull’s recent progress. The French driver took advantage of the break after Singapore to spend time with family and friends in Paris before preparing for another demanding sequence of races.

“After Singapore, it was nice to return to Paris and spend some time with family and friends after a busy weekend,” Isack Hadjar explained.

“I feel like I’ve recharged my batteries and I’m ready to get straight back to work in Austin. The last triple-header was positive for the team, and the car has made a real step forward in terms of performance. We want to carry that momentum with us to the United States.

“We’ve got another run of three consecutive races coming up, so we need to keep our heads down and work hard to come away with a positive result. I can’t wait to get back to fighting at the front, and COTA is a fantastic circuit to race on, so it should be enjoyable.”

Isack Hadjar’s comments reflect the renewed optimism within Red Bull following the improvements to the RB22. The French driver is eager to return to the leading positions and contribute to the team’s championship objectives.

With three consecutive race weekends approaching, maintaining consistent performance will be important for both Red Bull drivers. The team will be looking to capitalise on its recent development gains while avoiding setbacks that could compromise its Constructors’ Championship ambitions.

Red Bull closes in on Constructors’ Championship podium as Ferrari remains ahead

Red Bull’s recent performances have also strengthened its position in the battle for the 2026 Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship.

The Milton Keynes team is now just seven points away from a place in the top three of the championship standings, making another strong result at Austin particularly valuable.

Finishing second, however, represents a considerably greater challenge. Ferrari currently holds a 112-point advantage over Red Bull, leaving the team with substantial ground to recover in the remaining races.

Nevertheless, the recent competitiveness of the RB22 has given Red Bull a realistic opportunity to fight for a place on the Constructors’ Championship podium. Max Verstappen’s consecutive victories have demonstrated the car’s improved potential, while Isack Hadjar is determined to contribute further points as the team enters another demanding triple-header.

The United States Grand Prix will therefore represent an important opportunity for Red Bull to consolidate its progress. Max Verstappen will be aiming for his third consecutive Grand Prix victory, while Isack Hadjar hopes to return to the front and help the team close the gap to its championship rivals.

With recent upgrades delivering significant performance gains and both drivers optimistic about the weekend ahead, Red Bull heads to Austin determined to continue its late-season resurgence and collect as many points as possible.
