Max Verstappen slows down on Franco Colapinto joining Red Bull: “It’s complicated”. Max Verstappen speaks about Franco Colapinto and a potential Red Bull move.

Franco Colapinto, 2024 F1

Despite his name being on everyone’s lips, Franco Colapinto has not yet secured a seat for the 2025 Formula 1 campaign, and the chances of seeing him at Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen seem to be dwindling. The latest rumors suggest that Sergio Perez can count on the support of several new sponsors, ready to shower Horner’s team with money if they decide not to part ways with the Mexican driver.

It is said that these sponsorships amount to over thirty million dollars, with Red Bull’s top management reportedly already giving the green light for producing merchandise related to Checo.

Sergio Perez’s continuation would effectively close the doors of F1 for Franco Colapinto. The Argentine driver could only hope for Alpine, where Jack Doohan seems far from secure. According to some rumors, the Australian has a contract for only the first five races of the season. This way, Briatore would have time to evaluate him before deciding whether to bet on him or not.

Max Verstappen also speaks about Franco Colapinto
When questioned on the matter, Max Verstappen also shared his thoughts on the potential transfer of Franco Colapinto to Red Bull. “It’s hard to say what will happen since he has a contract with Williams,” stated the three-time world champion.

“He’s certainly doing very well in these races, and I believe James Vowles is also considering his future. As far as I’m concerned, I think he’s earned a place on the grid next year, but it’s complicated to find a seat at this point in the season.”
