Max Verstappen keeps second row for Miami Sprint after Red Bull reprimand for SQ2 minimum time violation. Max Verstappen keeps his second-row starting position for the Miami Sprint race.

No penalty for the Dutchman
Max Verstappen will keep his place on the second row of the starting grid for the Miami GP Sprint race. The Red Bull driver was called in front of the Stewards for failing to respect the minimum time in SQ2 during a non-lap run.

He was six seconds slower than required, but it was revealed that this was due to a Red Bull software error, which gave Max Verstappen incorrect information, indicating he was within the delta time when, in fact, he was six seconds over it.

In the document published by the Federation, it states that the four-time Formula 1 world champion maintained this ‘delay’ throughout the entire lap without necessarily driving slowly or impeding other drivers. The Stewards decided to issue a reprimand to the team for the software error, but no penalty was given to Max Verstappen, who had been accused by Lance Stroll of blocking the Aston Martin driver in SQ1. However, the Stewards did not consider the incident.
