“It was a good qualifying session, with all of us very close in every sector. We tried to arrive together at the end, which isn’t easy when it really counts,” Max Verstappen said.
Qualifying was fiercely competitive with no clear reference
The Texas conditions added another layer of difficulty. Strong winds and variable temperatures made life harder for the drivers. Verstappen explained his approach:
“We ran on soft tires without any real reference. The wind was very inconsistent, and it’s easy to go off track at high speed in these conditions. There’s still some margin for improvement here and there, but overall it was a great day for me.”
The Sprint will be full of battles: every point counts
The championship fight is heating up, and Max Verstappen cannot afford to miss any opportunity to close the gap to leader Oscar Piastri. Even though few points are awarded in the Sprint, it becomes crucial for the four-time world champion. Max Verstappen is anticipating a tight duel:
“I expect it to be a tough battle tomorrow, but that’s exactly what we want to see. We’ll try to make a strong start and then hope for a good race pace. The title fight is very close now, and every point counts,” he added.
