In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports UK, Jenson Button offered a precise analysis of Max Verstappen’s season and the ongoing battle for the 2025 World Championship. Jenson Button emphasized that the true value of the Red Bull driver does not lie solely in outright dominance, as seen in his previous world titles, but in his ability to adapt and fight tenaciously in moments when everything seems most difficult. In Button’s view, Max Verstappen is enjoying the on-track challenges more than simply hoping for an easy victory.
Clear and consistent improvement
Jenson Button praised the growth of the car Max Verstappen drives and the masterful way the Dutch champion exploits it throughout the races. “Max has reached a higher level of performance, managing to capitalize fully on every opportunity; this is all a driver can realistically do on a race weekend. Every event demonstrates impressive consistency,” the British driver explained ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend. This evolution of the car, combined with Max Verstappen’s reliability, makes him an increasingly dangerous contender, particularly in the crucial stages of the season.
The duel with Norris and the title fight
The championship battle remains far from decided, and Button gave credit to Lando Norris for his current leadership in the standings, the result of solid performances and an impressively competitive pace. “Now the fight for the title is much tougher. Lando is ahead, leading the championship, and has delivered really remarkable performances. Considering all this, I see no reason not to consider him the favourite at this moment,” Jenson Button added. This insight adds a layer of suspense to a championship that is shaping up to go down to the very last race.
