F1 | Max Verstappen acts out scene with Terry Crews on LEGO 1950 Cadillac
After his victory in Las Vegas, Max Verstappen and actor Terry Crews recreated a snippet from the film White Chicks while heading to the podium in a 1950 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special built entirely from LEGO bricks.
For the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Liberty Media wanted to go big. After the race, the top three – Max Verstappen, Lando Norris (later disqualified), and George Russell – were transported to the podium in a pink 1950 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special. The unique feature of this vehicle is that it was entirely constructed from LEGO bricks.
The company is investing heavily in Formula 1, and this detail – though it may seem minor, it’s far from it – shows how the F1 platform has become appealing to major brands looking to market their products.
The Cadillac in question was built from 418,000 LEGO bricks and was fully operational. It was driven by Terry Crews, former American football player and now a TV host and actor.
The journey of the four was captured by cameras around the world, and a memorable moment came when Crews easily got Verstappen – now accustomed to being without a helmet – to recreate a scene from the movie White Chicks.
Once everyone was seated in the Fleetwood Sixty Special and wearing some very unusual sunglasses, Verstappen suggested adding music. Crews, behind the wheel of the Cadillac, began singing A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton, joined by Max. This is the song featured in the White Chicks scene, a film that was released 21 years ago, in 2004.
The scene was recorded and broadcast before Crews parked the Cadillac, allowing the three drivers to exit and head to the podium for the official ceremony in front of a large crowd.
