The new Racing Bulls style
The unveiling of all the teams’ liveries at London’s O2 Arena last night delivered a mix of familiar looks and surprising changes. One of the most striking examples was Red Bull and its sister team, Racing Bulls. While the reigning champions introduced minimal visual updates compared to 2024, the Faenza-based squad adopted an almost entirely white design, with blue featured on the rear of the car and highlighting the title sponsor. The style closely resembles the special Red Bull livery used at the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix to celebrate its partnership with Honda.
Hadjar’s dream
Racing Bulls was one of the biggest surprises of the London event, as the team places its bets on rookie Isack Hadjar, last season’s Formula 2 runner-up behind Gabriel Bortoleto, who is also set for his F1 debut with Sauber. “Becoming an F1 driver has been my lifelong goal, so it feels surreal to be here living my dream,” the Frenchman said during the F1 75 show. “I don’t expect it to be easy—there’s a lot to learn—but I’m happy to learn from Yuki, who is an experienced professional in this sport, and I can take in everything a rookie needs to know from him.”
Five years in F1 and in Faenza
Hadjar referenced his teammate Yuki Tsunoda, who was initially seen as a potential replacement for Sergio Perez at Red Bull in 2025 but will instead continue his journey in F1 with Racing Bulls. “I hope my fifth season in F1 is an extension of the progress I’ve made in previous years,” the Japanese driver commented. “I want to refine my skills even further to become a more complete driver. By the end of last year, I had a stronger mindset and more control compared to the beginning of the season. Now, I want to focus even more and work on improving small margins. That can make the difference and help us keep fighting in the top 10 in what I expect to be an even more competitive field this year. I’ll take it step by step, but I feel confident.”
Laurent Mekies and his drivers
A new livery and a fresh driver lineup mark the start of Laurent Mekies’ second season as Team Principal. “I’m excited about our driver lineup,” the French engineer stated. “Yuki took a big step forward last year. He really impressed us with his progress in terms of raw speed as well as his technical qualities. He was a key part of all the changes we implemented last season, and with Isack stepping into his rookie season, Yuki will be the team leader and a crucial part of our plans for the coming season. Isack, another graduate of the Red Bull Junior Team, has shown great speed in every category on his path to F1, and we’re eager to see what he can do at this level. Developing young drivers for the Red Bull family has always been a cornerstone of this team’s role, and over the years, we’ve succeeded in doing just that. I can’t wait to see how the two work together on track to bring great success to VCARB this year!”
