In the weeks leading up to the start of the 2025 F1 World Championship, teams unveil new suits and drivers their new helmets: Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes rookie, is no exception as he presents his new Italy-colored helmet.
Having come of age on August 25, Andrea Kimi Antonelli is preparing for his Formula One debut as a full-time Mercedes driver. The young Italian talent, successor to Lewis Hamilton, is one of the rising stars in the Circus and, after Antonio Giovinazzi, brings the tricolor flag back to the F1 starting grid.
Nurtured within the Mercedes environment, Kimi Antonelli will make his debut alongside George Russell. The hopes of Toto Wolff and Italian motorsport are pinned on the 18-year-old from Bologna, who is set to be the young promise of the Anglo-German top team.
With his race number revealed, only the helmet was missing, and it was presented today, February 8, by Mercedes. The Brackley-based team showcased Kimi Antonelli’s new helmet to fans through a short video posted on its social media profiles.
At the beginning of the clip, the notes of Mameli and Novaro’s anthem can be heard coming from a radio held by the Mercedes driver, who moves towards a stand with an Italian flag to show fans his new helmet.
Blue is the dominant color on the shell of the young Bolognese talent’s helmet, while the shades of the Italian tricolor—green, white, and red—fade along the sides. With three hearts forming the colors of the national flag of the Bel Paese, Mercedes comments on the video in Italian: “Bellissimo!”
