Formula 1 delivered record viewing figures across Sky Sport’s platforms as Kimi Antonelli completed his remarkable charge from 19th on the grid to victory at Monza, a result that has turned one of the biggest races of the 2026 season into a major television event in Italy.

The Italian Grand Prix, shown live from 3pm on Sky Sport F1, Sky Sport Uno, Sky Sport 4K and TV8, recorded a combined average total audience of 4.464 million viewers, representing a 39% share. The race also reached 7.251 million unique viewers.
On Sky alone, Kimi Antonelli’s first Monza victory attracted an average total audience of 1.773 million viewers, with a 15.7% share and 2.547 million unique viewers. On free-to-air channel TV8, the Italian Grand Prix averaged 2.691 million viewers and achieved a 23.2% share.
The post-race studio coverage also performed strongly on Sky, averaging 1.135 million viewers in total audience and recording an 11.3% share.
The scale of the interest reflected the historic nature of Antonelli’s performance. The Mercedes driver not only won from 19th on the grid but also broke several Formula 1 records with his Monza victory, adding another major result to his 2026 World Championship campaign.
Sky Sport also records major digital and social numbers
The Italian Grand Prix produced record results across Sky Sport’s digital platforms as well. SkySport.it recorded 635,000 unique users during Sunday, generating 5 million page views and 832,000 video views.
Sky Sport’s social media audience reached 3.6 million, one of its highest figures ever. Meanwhile, the Sky Sport F1 social channels generated 3 million interactions and 38 million video views during Sunday alone.
The figures show how Kimi Antonelli’s home victory extended far beyond the usual Formula 1 audience. With the Italian driver leading the 2026 Formula 1 drivers’ standings, his dramatic Monza success has helped push Formula 1 back into the centre of mainstream sporting attention in Italy.
