A life of constant exams: for Kimi Antonelli, the challenges never end. And it’s not just about his performance on track, but also in school. The 18-year-old Mercedes driver, wearing #12, is preparing for his final exams to earn his diploma while managing the dual life of a student and an F1 driver.
How is he preparing for his exams? Kimi Antonelli spoke about it during The Fast and the Curious podcast, sharing some behind-the-scenes details.
“I’m in my final year and have my final exams coming up. Right now, I’m trying to find a date to take them, which is really difficult,” he admitted. “It would be a shame to quit in the last year of school. Plus, my mother really cares about it, so I’m doing it for her as well.”
Among the subjects he struggles with the most is math—balancing homework with preparing for a race weekend is no easy task. “It’s a terrible feeling, I won’t lie. It’s something I have to do, and it’s a really difficult subject,” he commented.
The podcast hosts suggested he ask Toto Wolff or George Russell for help, as Russell is known to be quite knowledgeable in the subject. However, Antonelli jokingly admitted that neither of them has helped him with his schoolwork so far.
“Well, if I meet him on the plane to the Japanese Grand Prix, I’ll go up to him and ask for help with math!” the young Italian talent responded with a smile.
After just two races, Kimi Antonelli currently sits fifth in the drivers’ standings. In Australia, he climbed from 16th to 4th place. In China, he finished 6th in the race and crossed the line 7th in the Sprint Race.
