While awaiting his first victory of 2026, Lando Norris is enjoying some consolation with his wax twin, who will soon join Lewis Hamilton and Ayrton Senna at London’s Madame Tussauds.
With the achievement of his first world championship come numerous honors. Norris recently lent his body to the Madame Tussauds team in London to take precise measurements. This meticulous work aims to replicate the British champion’s features exactly, creating a wax figure that mirrors the man as closely as possible.
The experience was lived with the usual lively spirit Norris has always shown in Formula 1. “It’s quite surreal to think I’ll have a statue at Madame Tussauds,” said the McLaren driver. “It’s a huge honor. Working with the artists was fantastic, and seeing all the details they’ve added to the figure is truly impressive. I can’t wait for fans to see the finished statue in London this summer.”
Norris will be in great company
The Bristol-born driver will be in excellent company. His statue will be placed in a sort of “F1 World” zone alongside his compatriot Lewis Hamilton. For the occasion, the museum has created a new setup featuring professional driving simulators, where fans can virtually challenge the lap times set by the two world champions.
Additionally, a dedicated app will allow visitors to photograph the statues and make them appear “alive,” while displaying all the key statistics of the drivers’ careers. The typical sounds of the pit lane and engine roars will provide an immersive background, enhancing the visitor experience.
For context, Lewis Hamilton’s wax figure still wears the black Mercedes suit, donated by the driver himself, though the museum may update the look this year to reflect his current Ferrari team. Since its debut in 2009, Hamilton’s statue has already been updated twice (in 2014/2015 and in 2022) to stay current with team changes and style updates.
Lando, a natural winner
During the measurement process, Norris also won over the team of experts creating the statue, starting with Steve Blackburn, general manager of Madame Tussauds London. “From the moment we started working with Lando, it was clear we were creating something truly special,” Blackburn said. “Our team worked at full speed to ensure perfect likeness. He was fantastic throughout the process, sitting patiently instead of running around like usual!”
Norris is a driver who is well-liked and admired beyond the UK. “Lando,” Blackburn added, “is firmly at the forefront of modern sport and culture: ambitious, fearless, and incredibly popular with fans around the world. We are committed to ensuring his statue is podium-ready, and we’re incredibly excited to welcome visitors to admire it in the coming months.”
Which pose will Lando take?
The official pose of the statue has not yet been revealed. Early reports suggest a “podium-ready” stance, implying the wax driver will assume a celebratory posture, possibly linked to his world championship victory. Some details about the outfit have leaked: it is expected to be an official McLaren suit with celebratory touches marking his 2025 title. All will be unveiled in the summer of 2026.
Lando Norris’s inclusion in Madame Tussauds marks his definitive crossover from a racing talent to a global cultural icon. By placing him alongside legends like Hamilton and Senna, the museum is acknowledging his pivotal role in the new era of Formula 1. Based on the content of the new exhibit plans, fans can expect a high-tech tribute that matches the energy of the 2025 champion himself.
