Formula 1 has not yet reached the halfway point of the season, but within the Red Bull camp, intriguing rumors about next year’s lineup have already started circulating once again. The most discussed is the potential promotion of Isack Hadjar from Racing Bulls to the Milton Keynes team, given the significant progress the Frenchman has made in his rookie season following a nightmare debut in Australia.
All set for the debuts in Canada
While waiting to see how the situation develops, teams are currently in Canada, where the Grand Prix will take place this weekend at Montreal’s ‘Gilles Villeneuve’ circuit. A track that represents a real challenge for Hadjar, who has never raced there during his career: “Barcelona was another great weekend for us and part of a fantastic European triple-header,” he said. “The car is working well and I’m excited to get back behind the wheel this week in Canada. It will be my first time driving in Montreal. It’s a very particular circuit and definitely a challenge, but there’s no reason why the car shouldn’t perform like it did in the last three races. As a team, we’re confident going into the weekend and aiming to fight for another Q3 and, hopefully, for points.”
A debut in Canada that matters both for Isack Hadjar and his teammate Liam Lawson. Although the New Zealander made his F1 debut last year, he has never raced in Montreal before. The former Red Bull driver will be looking to bounce back after a rather difficult start to the season: “I’m really excited for race week in Montreal,” he added. “It’s a very special race and a circuit that’s been on the Formula 1 calendar for a long time. As a kid, I grew up watching the Canadian GP, with drivers making their debut here. Last year I came to Montreal as a reserve driver and I really liked the city, so I’m looking forward to finally getting the chance to race on track this weekend.”
