Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson are preparing for a crucial weekend at Interlagos, where both Red Bull-backed drivers will try to turn things around after three disappointing rounds outside the points. With the team’s 2026 driver lineup still undecided, both drivers know that the remaining races could determine their Formula 1 futures.
Hadjar and Lawson fight for their F1 future
Red Bull has decided to delay its driver announcements for the 2026 season until the end of the year. This means that not only Yuki Tsunoda, but also Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson, still have time to prove themselves and convince the Red Bull management to trust them with a seat for next season. Effectively, a mini-championship begins at Interlagos between these three drivers — with Yuki Tsunoda aiming to stay within the Red Bull family, Hadjar pushing to take his place, and Lawson hoping simply to secure a spot on the 2026 Formula 1 grid.
Considering the Racing Bulls’ inconsistent form, both Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson will need to outperform expectations and deliver strong results starting from the Brazilian Grand Prix. It will not be an easy task, especially given their limited experience on this demanding circuit. The unpredictable weather forecast for São Paulo adds another layer of difficulty, making adaptation and precision even more critical.
Hadjar’s words
“We’re heading to Brazil after a tough weekend in Mexico, on a track that didn’t really suit our car,” said Isack Hadjar. “We’ve analyzed everything together as a team, and I’m feeling confident heading into this week’s São Paulo Grand Prix. It’s a Sprint weekend, and I’m really excited to drive here for the first time. I believe we’ll have plenty of opportunities thanks to the possibility of mixed weather conditions.”
Lawson’s words
“With four races left to go, I’m really looking forward to Brazil — it’s an iconic circuit with so much history,” added Liam Lawson. “I made my debut at Interlagos last year, and it was a very intense weekend with crazy weather conditions, something that could easily happen again. They’ve resurfaced the track, so that’s something we’ll need to consider after last year’s uneven conditions. As a team, we’ll focus on optimizing the car to make it as fast as possible for this weekend.”
