Honda lifts the curtain on its 2026 F1 power unit ahead of the Aston Martin partnership. Honda is set to unveil its 2026 Formula 1 power unit in Tokyo.

Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin, 2025 F1

Aston Martin is ready to lift the veil on its new Formula 1 car, marking the beginning of a brand-new partnership with Honda, which will act as power unit partner and manufacturer for the British team. This collaboration represents a major technical and strategic step for Aston Martin as it prepares for the 2026 regulation cycle.

The presentation of the team’s first single-seater designed under the direction of Adrian Newey is scheduled to take place on 9 February. However, attention will turn even earlier to Japan, where on Tuesday 20 January, in Tokyo, the headquarters city of the Japanese giant, Honda will officially present its 2026 power unit. The event is expected to offer the first concrete insight into Honda’s technical direction under the new Formula 1 regulations.

Among the guests in attendance will be Lawrence Stroll, Aston Martin team owner, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, and Toshihiro Mibe, CEO of Honda Motor Corporation. Their presence underlines the importance of the occasion, which not only showcases a new power unit but also symbolises Honda’s renewed commitment to Formula 1 at the highest level.

When and where to watch it in Italy

While the event in Tokyo is scheduled to begin at 13:00 local time, fans in Europe will need to tune in much earlier, as the live broadcast will start at 5:00 in the morning Central European Time Zone. For those eager to follow the presentation live, an early alarm clock will be essential.

All viewers will be able to watch the event in full via the official Honda YouTube channel, which will stream the presentation live. This will allow Formula 1 fans across Europe and around the world to follow every detail of Honda’s 2026 power unit reveal and hear directly from the key figures involved in this important new chapter.
