Aston Martin opens 2026 by announcing a new partnership that brings together motorsport and construction engineering. The British team has signed a licensing agreement with Meccano for the development of premium official sets aimed at an adult audience.
This collaboration gives life to the Aston Martin Aramco F1® Car x Meccano Pro, a 1:8 scale model inspired by the AMR25. Designed for experienced builders, the set offers an advanced assembly experience, featuring an extremely detailed design and realistic mechanical functions such as working steering, a fully operational engine and a movable DRS system. It is a true engineering laboratory for enthusiasts who want to feel like miniature designers.
The project will be produced and distributed globally by Addo Play and represents a historic milestone for Meccano. It is the first licensed product launched by the brand since coming under the control of Addo Play in 2025, as well as the very first collaboration between Meccano and a Formula 1 team. The model will be part of the new Meccano Pro category, dedicated to the premium adult construction segment and introduced as part of the brand’s renewal planned for the AW26 season.
The set was first displayed in 2025 in the Addo Play showroom in Los Angeles and will be officially presented to the public in January 2026 at the Nuremberg International Toy Fair, also known as Spielwarenmesse, ahead of its global launch.
Matt Chapman, Head of Licensing and Merchandising at the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, highlighted how this partnership makes it possible to transform the engineering complexity of a Formula 1 car into a tangible experience for fans, celebrating craftsmanship and innovation. Dave Martin and Mary Price, co-founders of Addo Play, shared the same vision, describing the collaboration as the beginning of a new chapter for Meccano in the world of premium licensed products.
The Aston Martin Aramco F1® Car x Meccano Pro will be available worldwide from August 2026, positioning itself as both a collector’s item and a genuine technical challenge for those who want to experience Formula 1 from an engineer’s perspective.
