Max Verstappen’s four-title streak
In the last four seasons, Red Bull has almost always managed to impose its dominance in the Constructors’ Championship, failing to win the world title in 2021 and the most recent season. A ‘four-title streak’ that the Anglo-Austrian team has not yet secured, although it has been a period dominated by Max Verstappen, who has remained world champion even after a challenging 2024.
The concern in Milton Keynes is that these obstacles could be even harder to overcome in the upcoming season, potentially ending a streak of positive results that has, as noted, been uninterrupted since 2021. Consequently, Red Bull’s advisor, Helmut Marko, continues to pursue the big goal of repeating their success in 2025, especially for one particular reason.
Five consecutive titles
Looking at Red Bull’s history, the team won four consecutive Constructors’ Championships from 2010 to 2013, also achieving the Drivers’ title with Sebastian Vettel. However, mainly due to the introduction of power units in 2014, Red Bull’s dominance ended that year, and from then until 2020, Mercedes prevailed in both championships.
No regulatory changes
As things stand, Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen share the record for the most titles won with Red Bull, all consecutive: “The intentions to stay healthy and celebrate new successes with Max Verstappen have come true,” Helmut Marko said to Sport.the. “For next year, I hope we can achieve the fifth consecutive world title. At the time, it wasn’t possible with Vettel because of the change in engine regulations. However, this time the regulations remain stable. On the other hand, this also means that all the other teams will be closer, so I expect a very exciting battle between the four top teams.” According to Helmut Marko, this challenge still sees Max Verstappen as the clear favorite: “With the composition of our team, Verstappen is the clear number one,” he added. “At Ferrari, there will be a battle between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri won’t settle for the number 2 role at McLaren. I don’t know how it will be at Mercedes; it depends on how visible Kimi Antonelli is. In some teams, there will be internal battles, something I don’t think we’ll see with us with Liam Lawson.”
