Racing in Mexico
Franco Colapinto’s supporters followed him all the way to Texas, so another crowd of fans is expected in Mexico and Brazil for the Williams driver, who has scored five points in four races, overshadowing a well-established driver like Alexander Albon.
Franco Colapinto introduced the upcoming weekend at the circuit named after the Rodriguez brothers: “I’m excited to race in Mexico this weekend. I can’t wait to once again feel the incredible support from the fans. Reflecting on Austin, it’s clear that very little separates the midfield teams. The high altitude of the circuit will present a unique challenge compared to others in trying to get the most out of the car. Returning to the normal race weekend format allows me to focus on preparation during the sessions ahead of qualifying. As a team, we’ll do our best to be in the fight for points.”
Alexander Albon is called to “bounce back” in the face of Franco Colapinto’s unexpected competitiveness: “After a tough weekend, I’m looking forward to getting back in the car in Mexico this week and seeing how the car performs on this unique circuit, which has always been a very unpredictable track for our car.” – he added ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend, which is set to take place at the 4.304-kilometre Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
