Racing Bulls continued their remarkable run of form at the British Grand Prix, securing another double points finish and moving to within just one point of Alpine in the battle for fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
Fourth consecutive double points finish
At the Monaco Grand Prix, Racing Bulls celebrated its first weekend of the season with both drivers finishing inside the top 10, as Liam Lawson crossed the line in sixth ahead of team-mate Arvid Lindblad in seventh.
Three Grands Prix later, the Faenza-based team repeated that achievement at Silverstone. More importantly, the result extended an impressive streak, with Racing Bulls now scoring points with both cars in four consecutive Grands Prix.
Closing in on Alpine
The celebrations continue at Racing Bulls, as the team’s consistent performances have brought it ever closer to Alpine in the Constructors’ standings. Ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix, only a single point separates the two teams.
“Today was a fantastic result for the team,” Lawson said after the race. “We made a great start and had excellent race pace, so I’m really happy with how everything came together. The upgrades we introduced in Canada were first fully evaluated in Barcelona, particularly regarding the high-speed balance, and since then every weekend has been really positive.
“I’m extremely proud of all the hard work the team has put in, which has allowed us to score points with both cars. We’ve got some challenging circuits coming up, but hopefully we can keep this momentum going.”
A memorable home Grand Prix
Lindblad was equally pleased after matching the best Formula 1 result of his career, equalling the seventh-place finish he achieved earlier this season in Monaco.
“It was a fantastic day and I’m really happy to score points here at my first home Grand Prix. Racing in front of my home crowd made the whole weekend even more special. We had a good start, but after going side by side with Max at Turn 3, I experienced some setup issues that prevented me from holding onto my position.
“That was a little frustrating, but once again it was a great team result, and it’s fantastic that we’ve been able to maintain this positive momentum. The team has done an outstanding job and I think that, since introducing the upgrade package in Canada, we have an even stronger car. Huge credit goes to everyone.”
Team Principal Alan Permane also praised the entire Racing Bulls operation as attention now turns to the Belgian Grand Prix.
“Another almost perfect weekend for us. Congratulations to both drivers and the whole team. We executed every aspect of the weekend perfectly. The strategy was flawless, the pace was excellent, and we put ourselves in the right position to maximize every opportunity that unfolded during the race.
“Everyone has performed at an exceptionally high level, from the drivers to the trackside team and, of course, our fantastic factories in Milton Keynes and Faenza. It’s rewarding to see all that hard work translating into results.
“We’ve completed four very busy races, with two more before the summer break, and we’re looking forward to repeating this success at Spa.”
