In Brazil, Max Verstappen delivered an exceptional performance, so impressive that it has led to comparisons with former Scuderia Ferrari and Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher.
From the outset, the Brazilian Grand Prix was predicted to be a challenging weekend for Max Verstappen. With a car that was no longer dominant, the Dutch driver had to serve a five-place grid penalty for the GP. His troubles were compounded by a forgettable qualifying session where he failed to reach Q3, ending up in 12th.
Starting from 17th on the grid, Max Verstappen pulled off a remarkable feat. He gained seven positions in the first lap, followed by a risky but ultimately successful strategy. The Dutch driver managed to reach the top step of the podium by the end of the race.
Timo Glock, former F1 driver, spoke about Max Verstappen, placing him on the same level as his compatriot Michael Schumacher, despite the statistics showing Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton still leading with seven World Championships.
“It will take a bit more time to reach Michael’s World Championships,” Timo Glock said, adding, “But in terms of rain-driving skills and overall qualities as a driver, Max Verstappen can already be considered on par with Michael Schumacher. Max is incredibly talented, and what he manages to do in races is extraordinary. Unique.” – he pointed out.
After an incredible race in Interlagos, Max Verstappen now has the opportunity to clinch the World Championship in Las Vegas. Updates on the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships will follow.
