Flavio Briatore is a supporter of Max Verstappen: it is well-known that the Dutch driver is often (and willingly) under attack by the media and some fans, who criticize not only the Red Bull driver’s personality but also his abilities. The Executive Advisor of the Alpine team has not taken kindly to these continuous criticisms and has defended Max Verstappen. Here are Flavio Briatore’s words: “He reminds me of Michael, Fernando, Ayrton Senna,” he said in a recent interview for Sport1.
“[Max Verstappen is] exactly what Formula 1 needed. Everyone criticizes this guy for his spectacular driving. It’s totally stupid! He has brought new energy to the sport. Formula 1 desperately needed this new star,” he concluded. These are wonderful words towards the four-time world champion, once again appreciated by former faces who made history in F1.
