The Argentine has entered the gates of Alpine
Franco Colapinto has started his adventure as a development driver for Alpine. The Argentine driver, strongly wanted by Advisor Flavio Briatore, was in the spotlight when Renault, with Fernando Alonso behind the wheel, won the world title, and Colapinto was just 2-3 years old. Born in 2003, he was recruited by Alpine from Williams, where he was “blocked” by Alexander Albon and newly acquired Carlos Sainz.
The French team is already complete in terms of drivers, but Jack Doohan’s seat could be at risk if the Australian fails to prove he deserves the spot starting from the first races of 2025. Pierre Gasly, on the other hand, is obviously the undisputed number one driver for the team and concluded the 2024 season with numerous top-level performances.
Seat Fit Test for Jack Doohan
The son of a racing legend – his father Mick was a MotoGP legend with five world titles aboard a Honda – arrived at Enstone yesterday and has already completed the classic seat fitting ahead of the season start.
Jack Doohan is eager to experience his first year as a full-time F1 driver. In 2021, he finished second in F3, and in 2023, he ended up third in F2. In 2024, he was Alpine’s third driver and made his debut in Abu Dhabi during the final Grand Prix of the season.
