What the FIA Stewards Inspected
Liam Lawson experienced his strongest Formula 1 weekend so far at the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix held at the Red Bull Ring. After a season marked more by struggles than standout performances, the young New Zealander delivered a breakthrough result. He qualified on the third row of the grid and went on to finish the race in an impressive sixth position, making him the highest-placed driver not competing for one of the leading teams.
Following the Grand Prix, Liam Lawson’s Racing Bulls car was randomly selected by the FIA for detailed post-race technical checks, a standard procedure that goes beyond the usual inspections for weight and floor wear. The FIA’s technical delegates focused in particular on inspecting the clutch system to ensure compliance with the regulations regarding setup and operation.
After thorough examination, all components reviewed were found to be fully compliant with both the technical and sporting regulations.
Racing Bulls currently sits sixth in the 2025 Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship standings ahead of the British Grand Prix weekend at the Silverstone circuit. The team holds a seven-point advantage over Haas and trails fifth-placed Williams by 19 points as the midfield battle intensifies.
