Mercedes have shared a reflective message on social media in which the team outlined its objectives for both the squad and its supporters heading into the 2026 Formula 1 season.
On the eve of Formula 1’s new regulatory era, Mercedes chose to send a clear and deliberate message to its fanbase, speaking openly about renewal, ambition, and “new dreams”. The post, published across the team’s social media channels, represents a true statement of intent as the Brackley-based outfit prepares for the major technical reset scheduled for 2026.
After finishing second in the 2025 constructors’ championship, with two race victories secured by George Russell, Mercedes are looking to the future with renewed optimism following several difficult seasons during the ground-effect era. Since the introduction of the current regulations in 2022, the team have managed just seven race wins, a modest return by their own high standards.
A new era as a fresh starting point
With the arrival of the new technical regulations, 2026 is widely viewed within the paddock as a genuine clean slate. While there is still uncertainty over which teams have interpreted the new rules most effectively, positive rumours have already begun circulating about Mercedes’ new power unit, which some insiders believe could set the benchmark, at least in the early stages of the new cycle.
Against this backdrop, Mercedes have sought to strengthen their bond with supporters by delivering a message with a strong sense of identity through social media. “You, our fans, are an integral part of who we are,” Mercedes wrote on their official channels.
“As we enter a new era, we commit to bringing you with us, closer to the action, to the innovation, and to the ambition that drives us.”
‘We have new dreams to realise’
The message continued by underlining the historic values of the team and its desire to become even more open and accessible to fans. “Our journey is constantly evolving: driven by performance, shaped by integrity, and enriched by refinement.”
“Over the course of the year, we will open new doors, share new perspectives, and bring you closer to the heart of our homes at Lauda and Morgan Drive. We have new dreams to realise, and we want you to be part of our team.”
On the driver front, George Russell will once again be partnered by Andrea Kimi Antonelli. After an up-and-down rookie campaign, the young Italian ended the 2025 season on an upward trajectory, securing two podium finishes in Brazil and Las Vegas, underlining his growing confidence at the highest level.
Finally, Mercedes’ power unit division will also play a crucial role in the new era. In 2026, the German manufacturer will supply its engines to three customer teams – Alpine, McLaren, and Williams – further strengthening Mercedes’ influence and presence within the next generation of Formula 1.
