Lando Norris will soon have his very own wax figure at the Madame Tussauds museum in London, becoming only the second Formula 1 driver after Lewis Hamilton to receive this honor. After a challenging start to the new season, this is welcome news for the McLaren driver. Lando worked closely with the artists, who meticulously recorded all the details to be included in the figure, which will be officially unveiled this summer.
The reigning world champion joins Lewis Hamilton as the only Formula 1 drivers currently represented in the museum. The statue will be placed in the area dedicated to cultural icons at Madame Tussauds. Alongside Lewis, this section features other sporting legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, Mary Earps MBE, Anthony Joshua, and Kylian Mbappé.
Lando Norris and his new wax statue
The British driver has reached a remarkable milestone following his first Formula 1 title. Norris can now boast having his own wax figure displayed at the historic London museum. For now, only the aesthetic details have been gathered, and the full statue will be officially presented this summer.
“It’s pretty surreal to think that I’ll have a wax figure at Madame Tussauds, it’s a huge honor. Working with the artists has been fantastic, and seeing all the details they’ve included in the figure is really impressive. I can’t wait for fans to come and see the finished statue in London this summer,” said the McLaren driver.
Collaboration with the museum artists
Lando spent an entire day working alongside the artists to begin the project for his wax figure. “Norris is firmly at the forefront of modern sport and culture: ambitious, fearless, and incredibly popular with fans around the world,” said Steve Blackburn, managing director of Madame Tussauds.
The goal is to offer the most accurate representation possible, leaving nothing to chance. “From the very first moment we started working with Lando, it was clear that we were creating something truly special, and our team worked at full speed to ensure a perfect likeness. He was fantastic throughout the process, staying patiently still and not running around as usual,” Blackburn added.
This honor cements Lando Norris’s status as a global sporting icon beyond the confines of the F1 paddock. Following his title-winning campaign, his popularity has surged, making him a natural fit for London’s most famous waxwork collection. Fans traveling to the British Grand Prix this July will likely have the first opportunity to see the world champion’s likeness in person, marking a proud moment for both the driver and the McLaren team.
The addition of Lando Norris to Madame Tussauds is therefore a testament to his massive impact on the sporting world over the last year. As he navigates the challenges of defending his crown on track, this off-track recognition reveal his incredible journey to the top of the motorsport pyramid. Whether on the asphalt of Silverstone or the halls of Marylebone Road, the Norris brand continues to accelerate at an impressive pace.
