After leaving Ferrari, Enrico Cardile has begun his new adventure at Aston Martin, with the goal of arriving fully prepared for the 2026 season. His departure from Ferrari was one of the most discussed moves of last year. Cardile decided to leave the Scuderia to join an Aston Martin team that is strongly focused on the 2026 campaign. In addition to the former Maranello engineer, Lawrence Stroll’s team will also benefit from the immense talent of Adrian Newey.
The British designer, after leaving Red Bull, immediately started working on the new regulations, as the next season will be crucial for the ‘green team’. However, the latest reports, according to Riccardo Patrese, do not appear particularly encouraging. The former driver, interviewed after the Goodwood Festival, mentioned that he spoke with Newey about the 2026 car. “They do not expect to fight for the title immediately. They are still missing a few things,” he said.

From now on, Adrian Newey can count on the support of Enrico Cardile. The Italian engineer recently joined Aston Martin after completing the gardening period required by his previous contract. “I am really happy to be part of this team. Here, everything is in place to achieve great results, and I am honored to contribute. I will be responsible for overseeing the car’s development, both in terms of performance and design and testing,” Enrico Cardile said.
“There are many things that impressed me. The entire campus is fantastic, and the wind tunnel is among the most advanced available. Adrian is highly inspiring, as is Andy Cowell, who pays attention to every single detail. I found great openness to change and a real desire to grow. Not everything will happen immediately, and it will take time, but we will give our best effort,” Enrico Cardile added.
