With renewed confidence, the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix represents the true test for Red Bull and Verstappen. Despite recent successes, the Asian track has historically been challenging for the team: humid, with slow corners and high downforce demands, it has never seen Verstappen on the top step of the podium. In 2023, it was even the only race of the season where the Dutch driver did not reach the podium.
“There are many uncertainties. Practically everything has to go perfectly on my side, and then a bit of luck is needed as well,” Verstappen told Sky Sports F1, tempering easy enthusiasm.
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, however, appeared more optimistic: “Hope has been rekindled. Monza was not an isolated event; the step forward is real, and the preparation work for the weekend has changed our perspective.”
Marko added: “However, it is true that Singapore is always extremely hot and our package struggles in these conditions. The Grand Prix will be the benchmark to see where we really stand, but in any case, we will not give up, especially to give Max every chance of victory,” confirming that the outcome of the race could influence the rest of the season.
Meanwhile, McLaren is watching closely. Both Andrea Stella and his drivers have admitted that they do not rule Max Verstappen out of the fight. If the Singapore GP confirms Red Bull’s growth, the 2025 championship could dramatically reopen.
