After months of rumors, names, and speculation, the announcement now seems imminent. Helmut Marko has indeed disclosed when the new Red Bull driver for the 2025 season will be revealed.
The options remaining on the table appear to be three. The first is the confirmation of Checo Perez, while the others are the promotion of either Yuki Tsunoda or Liam Lawson. These seem to be the only viable paths at this point. Franco Colapinto, who in recent weeks was rumored to be close to signing with the Milton Keynes team, is no longer in consideration.
Christian Horner and Helmut Marko have decided to continue their philosophy of maintaining a strong connection with the Racing Bulls, effectively ruling out the arrival of the Argentine driver.
When will the announcement be made?
In recent statements, Helmut Marko revealed the timeline for the new Red Bull driver announcement for 2025. “I believe the announcement will be made in the coming days,” said the team’s Super Consultant. “There has been much discussion on this topic over the past months. Some have even brought up issues regarding possible commissions to be paid, but I can say that makes absolutely no sense.”
Marko also responded to Yuki Tsunoda’s comments about the Abu Dhabi tests. The Japanese driver had revealed that Red Bull was impressed with his communication skills with the engineers. “Yuki had this opportunity in Abu Dhabi, and the team was very happy. In this regard, I’d like to say that he is much stronger than what others suggest,” Marko added.
