Max Verstappen Tempted by Aston Martin?
During the 2025 F1 season launch show, Max Verstappen remained silent. The world champion simply walked the stage alongside a group of dancers and performers, as well as his teammate Liam Lawson, next to his same old Red Bull with its unchanged livery. Instead, it was Christian Horner who took center stage—receiving some jeers from the London crowd but remaining firmly at the helm of the Milton Keynes team after an eventful 2024. And even before the engines roar back to life, a new crisis is brewing: the possibility that Super Max could leave and join Aston Martin.
Horner Responds to Transfer Rumors
The news, originally reported by the Daily Mail in recent weeks—mentioning a staggering £1 billion package to secure a multi-year deal with the four-time world champion—has been dismissed as nonsense by those involved. Christian Horner also addressed the rumor during the O2 Arena event, playfully scolding journalists.
“Look, I know you all have pages to fill during the winter,” the Red Bull team principal told GPBlog, “but are you really asking me about a £1 billion offer? That would be an astronomical figure!”
This was his way of further discrediting the tabloid’s claims while reinforcing the team’s unity around Max Verstappen:
“Aston Martin? It’s not my place to comment on other teams’ finances, but I can say that I believe Red Bull is relatively well positioned compared to others in the pit lane. And I think Max is very happy in his current environment. He’s grown within this team, has a great relationship with the engineers, the technicians, and everyone he works with. It’s up to us to provide him with a competitive car and the foundation to continue achieving the results he has over the past ten years.”
