Horner’s potential return
In the Formula 1 paddock, speculation continues about the future of Christian Horner. The former Red Bull Racing team principal appears poised to return to the F1 Circus starting next season, especially following the high-profile settlement that closed the case regarding alleged harassment of a Red Bull employee. However, it remains unclear which team he might join.
Singapore Grand Prix press conference
The topic came up during the team principals’ press conference over the Singapore GP weekend. In particular, James Vowles, the current Williams team principal, was asked whether there had been any discussions with Horner. It is worth noting that Vowles and Horner were rivals during the intense Mercedes-Red Bull title battles, as James Vowles was Mercedes’ head of strategy at the time. Seeing them working together in the same garage after all these years would certainly be intriguing.
Williams open to dialogue but satisfied with current setup
Regarding the matter, James Vowles left the door open while clarifying that no discussions with Horner have taken place so far. “Has Horner approached us? No. Simple,” James Vowles told journalists at Marina Bay, adding, “I believe it’s always important to remain open to dialogue. There’s no sense in closing doors. At the moment, we are very satisfied with the structure we have, and it works well. So I see no reason to make any changes.”
Rumors circulating in the paddock suggest that Horner may be seeking a role similar to Toto Wolff’s, which would allow him to control at least part of a team’s shares while remaining actively involved in decision-making. For now, however, Williams remains focused on its current team structure and strategy, while the F1 community continues to speculate on where the former Red Bull principal might land.
