Carlos Sainz heading to Mexico
Carlos Sainz has a special connection with the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City. The Spanish driver enjoys strong fan support, similar to Austin where he was cheered after his Sprint podium, and he has consistently improved his results there: sixth in 2021, fifth in 2022, fourth in 2023, and a winner in 2024.
Repeating that victory will naturally be a very difficult task, but Williams has shown strong pace in recent races. Carlos Sainz’s challenge this weekend is compounded by a five-place grid penalty for his incident at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas with Kimi Antonelli. Nevertheless, he remains confident about having a strong weekend at the Mexican track.
Carlos Sainz’s words
“We are approaching the Mexican GP, a track I always enjoy racing at, with the crowd’s energy being unmatched,” said Carlos Sainz. “It is disappointing to face the weekend with a five-place grid penalty, but the positive side is that we know the car has good pace, so we hope to qualify well and fight back on Sunday.” – the former Ferrari driver pointed out ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend, which is set to take place at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
Alex Albon’s words
“I’m looking forward to going to Mexico and finishing the double-header on a high note,” added Alexander Albon, who has not scored points in the full-length races since the Monza GP. “The Mexican circuit is very different from others, partly due to the altitude, and the stadium section is one of the best to drive on the F1 calendar. The last races have been quite chaotic, so our priority will be to keep all sessions clean, minimize risks, and work effectively as a team.”
