Carlos Sainz participated in the second group of drivers at the customary Thursday press conference. This marks his first Monza as a former Ferrari driver, and the crowd continues to support and cheer him. For the Spanish driver, the backing of the fans will be crucial after a difficult weekend in the Netherlands. The incident with Liam Lawson cost him a ten-second penalty, compromising his race result. At the Temple of Speed, he is called upon to give his best, aiming for a solid and rewarding performance.
“This is a track that I love very much, one of the best for me. Having all the fans here makes it even more enjoyable. I’ve always done well here, perhaps because I like feeling the car free. In the past, the Williams has performed well, and we hope to achieve excellent results again this year. After the evident improvement in performance compared to previous seasons, we are aiming for something more,” he said.
New challenges
Driving for Williams has been an adventure that is testing him greatly. It has been a season of ups and downs, where the determination of the Spanish driver never fades: “I’m discovering a lot of things; I have changed my driving style. It’s not one of the most enjoyable cars in some areas, while in others it is definitely better. I’m happy, it’s a challenge that I am taking seriously,” he added.
We only have a few hours left to see what kind of weekend it will be for Carlos Sainz, who will aim to reach the points zone alongside Alex Albon.
