Alex Albon’s disappointment
From the disappointment of losing five points after the Sprint due to Alex Albon’s penalty to a double Q3 appearance ahead of the Ferrari cars and Yuki Tsunoda: it was a rollercoaster Saturday in Miami for Williams. Here’s what the drivers and the team principal from the Grove-based outfit had to say.
Carlos Sainz: “I’m very happy with the qualifying result. I’ve felt good with the car since the only Free Practice session and I knew I was quick this weekend, so it’s nice to have a clean session and extract the maximum from the car. The weekend isn’t over yet and we still need to deliver a perfect race if we want to bring home good points.”
Alex Albon: “It was tough to go into Qualifying after receiving a penalty in the Sprint where I finished fourth. I’m satisfied with P7 and having both cars in Q3 is a great result for the team. Our pace is very good.”
James Vowles: “What I love about this team is that even when we’re knocked down, we come back stronger. It was great to see the whole team excited and eager to show the world that we have a fast car this weekend. Qualifying was executed perfectly and the result was incredibly rewarding. Our job now is to get both cars into the points, even though we have faster cars behind us.”
