After Haas, Christian Horner is now being linked to Aston Martin for a potential return to Formula 1, with comments coming from the British team’s CEO, Andy Cowell. Rumors about Horner’s comeback in F1 continue to circulate. Following his sudden departure from Red Bull, the British manager has been associated with several teams. A few days ago, Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu confirmed that Horner had reached out regarding a possible role at the American team, though discussions did not go beyond an initial exploratory stage. Now, a new rumor has emerged suggesting that Horner has been in contact with Aston Martin, and CEO Andy Cowell has not entirely dismissed the possibility.
The words of Andy Cowell
Speaking in Singapore during the media day, Andy Cowell chose to remain cautious, without completely shutting down the rumors. “I think Christian is taking some time at the moment. He’s probably enjoying time with friends and family. But he loves this sport. I wish him all the best in whatever he decides to do in the future,” he said.
Cowell also reiterated the strength of the Aston Martin project, built around Adrian Newey and a constantly growing technical team: “We have a strong team with Adrian leading the technical organization, and we are growing. We’re a young outfit, with excellent facilities and tools in development. We’ve brought in key figures like Enrico Cardile, Jack Vino for aerodynamics, and we have internal talents like Michael Hart working alongside Adrian.”
The CEO did not fail to acknowledge the achievements of the former Red Bull rival: “Christian’s record speaks for itself. He’s a great competitor. In the end, it will be up to him to decide whether to step away from motorsport or find a new role within it.”
When asked if Horner could join Aston Martin, Cowell’s response remained deliberately ambiguous: “We have a plan and we are moving forward. It’s up to Christian to decide where he wants to play his part in the future. Who knows what will happen.”
