Kimi challenges all his fans by fielding a Mercedes-powered lineup for the next two F1 Fantasy Grands Prix, adding an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming races.
Back underway with the… Antonel-League
Formula 1 returns to the track and heads to North America for two Grands Prix in May that finally bring an end to the long break caused by the conflict in the Persian Gulf.
As engines fire back into life – with particular attention also focused on the introduction of new regulatory changes agreed by the teams in collaboration with the FIA and Formula 1 – fans can also look forward to a special initiative dedicated to F1 Fantasy enthusiasts.
Exclusively for the Miami and Montreal race weekends, the Antonel-League will be open: a mini-league where fans can go head-to-head with championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli and try to win exclusive prizes.
What is F1 Fantasy?
Never heard of F1 Fantasy? It is essentially the Formula 1 version of fantasy football, an official game organised directly by the championship’s governing body.
Each player must select five drivers and two teams within a limited starting budget, earning points based on the real-world on-track performances of the chosen lineup.
Points are awarded not only for race results but also for factors such as overtakes made, positions gained compared to qualifying, as well as achievements like setting the fastest lap or winning the fan-voted Driver of the Day award.
At the same time, there are also penalties, including those for retirements, positions lost and overtakes conceded, making strategy and balance crucial when building a competitive lineup.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s selections
One of the most intriguing aspects of the Antonel-League, the official mini-league backed by Andrea Kimi Antonelli, is the prize pool reserved for the top three finishers after the Miami and Montreal Grands Prix.
The winner will receive a pair of gloves signed and actually used in a race by the current leader of the Formula 1 World Championship. The runner-up will receive a Mercedes cap signed by Antonelli, while the third-place finisher will be awarded a signed postcard from the young Italian talent.
Antonelli’s own lineup choices are also particularly interesting. For the Miami round, the 19-year-old from Bologna has, unsurprisingly, selected himself and Mercedes, alongside Oliver Bearman, Pierre Gasly, Valtteri Bottas and Nico Hülkenberg, while also choosing Alpine as his second team.
Now the question is simple: who will be able to beat him?
